Do The Leafs Have A Tendency To Feel Good About Themselves And Take Their Feet Off The Gas?

Leafs Ice Chips: Tavares stays out late at skate; GTD in Philly:
Maple Leafs' captain John Tavares missed practice on Tuesday with head coach Sheldon Keefe saying he was "banged up" after their game against the Los Angeles Kings. While Tavares will be a game time decision against the Flyers, he was on the ice for around 40 minutes after practice, which is unusual for a player who will dress. Mark Masters has more from the Leafs' practice.
Leafs searching for more depth scoring:
The last 14 goals scored by the Maple Leafs have all come off the sticks of Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Mitch Marner and William Nylander. The way the team is built, with those core four forwards eating up half the salary cap, Toronto will certainly lean heavily on those stars. However, hockey is a team game and as Mark Masters reports, relying on the big boys for offence will only take you so far.
No substantial extension talks between Leafs and Campbell since season began: TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston joins That's Hockey to detail the latest on contract negotiations between the Maple Leafs and goaltender Jack Campbell, and Tuukka Rask's NHL future.
