Do Glazes Affect the Durability of Waxes and Sealants?

In this video I’ll be looking at paint glazes and whether or not they affect the durability of a wax or sealant applied over the top. I’ve chosen Poorboy’s Black Hole and Car Chem All-in-One polish for the comparison and used Garage Therapy /THREE: Ceramic Sealant and Dodo Juice Blue Velvet as the last stage products.

More testing Info:
- Panel was washed with Garage Therapy /Decontamination: Shampoo
- Clayed using Bilt Hamber Soft Clay
- Gtechniq panel wipe solution was used to further cleanse the paintwork
- Bonnet was split into 6 sections
- 2 sections were machine polished using Scholl S40 and the oils were removed with the Gtechniq panel wipe
- 2 sections were treated with Car Chem All-in-One polish which was worked in using a foam pad
- 2 sections were treated with Poorboy’s Black Hole Glaze
- Either the sealant or wax was applied to the 3 differently prepared sections
- Water behaviour was monitored after weekly washes using Valet Pro Citrus (1:8) followed by Simplewax Suds
